FATMAN Scoop attracted hundreds of local residents when he made an appearance in Southport.

The popular artist, who is best known for his single Be Faithful, performed at Khepri nightclub.

His appearance at the Lord Street venue, in Southport town centre, was part of his UK tour.

Speaking before his visit, Fatman Scoop warned he was “coming to kill it in Southport”.

He performed on the club’s new stage to a crowd of around 350 people – and there were even confetti cannons.

Tickets for the event cost £20 per person – and all the VIP booths had sold out for the performance.

Andrew Mikhail, owner of Khepri, said: “It was unbelievable, he really connects with the audience and he is a real character.

“Performances like this are helping to change the perception of Southport, and are attracting people from outside of our town.

“I spoke to Fatman Scoop after the event and he loved it. It was the first time he has been to the area and he was really impressed.”

And the performance went down well with clubgoers.

Andrew said: “I am absolutely delighted with the feedback, I haven’t heard a bad word about it.

“I have started to see a lot more people getting involved on social media now, and encouraging others to attend the events.”

Love Island star Kem Cetinay is another name set to appear at Khepri on Saturday, October 21.

The restaurant and bar also has a range of acts, performers and DJs planned over the coming months.
