AMUM claims a “flasher” chased her 16-year-old son while shouting lewd remarks. The mum, who did not want to be named, said her teenage son was with friends in Birkdale, when they were approached by two “drunk men” outside the Crown pub.

She said: “One man ruffled my son’s hair and said ‘weird haircut that’ and then dropped his pants, showing his penis and said ‘have you ever seen a c*** the size of that?”

“My son and his friends crossed the road to get away from them and he dropped his pants again and started chasing them.”

The teenager’s mum said her son, who was on a bike, began to film the incident, which happened in Liverpool Road at about 6.30pm on Saturday.

He said that one of the men pulled him off his bike and tried to ride off.

She added: “The man made it a few feet but then fell off because he was so drunk and ended up popping his nose because he hit his head on the ground.

“But he then picked up the bike and was holding it above his head, walking with it above his head before throwing it down.

“The guy’s mate was shouting ‘get the bike and go’.”

Her son and friends managed to get the bike back and walk to Taylor’s, a nearby bar, to get away from the men.

But she said that minutes later, the men returned in a red car and were driving dangerously.

The mum, 47, from Ainsdale, said: “Locals from Taylor’s pub helped my son and his friends get away from the drunk men.

“Police then came and put the man who exposed himself to my son in a police car.

“The other man was being questioned but got into a struggle with police and five police officers had to restrain him and put him in a police van.”

In a video filmed by the 16-year-old, four police officers can be seen restraining a man, who is struggling, shouting and swearing.

Two officers are then seen leading the handcuffed man to a police car.

The teenager also filmed footage which appears to show him running down the street, away from a man.

His mum said: “I felt shocked and disgusted, that something like that can happen in broad daylight and in front of loads of people. I hope both men get sent down.”

A Merseyside police spokeswoman said officers arrested a man just before 7pm on Saturday.

She said that the 23-year-old had been arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure, theft and a Section Five public order offence.

He has been released while investigations continue.

Anyone with any information about the incident is urged to call Southport police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
