BISTROT Pierre has officially announced the opening date for its new Southport restaurant.

It will be in Lord Street, in the unit that formerly belonged to Russel & Bromley.

The restaurant aims to serve value authentic French bistrot dishes, and will have capacity for 140 diners.

It will also create 50 jobs.

Karen Rimmer, general manager at Bistrot Pierre, said: “We’re delighted to be coming to Southport – the North West’s food and drink scene is booming at the moment and we’re excited to bring something new to the table.

“I’m from the area myself, so I understand the local market, the people, and have 18 years’ experience in the industry, so I’m confident the new bistrot will create a memorable dining experience for customers looking to enjoy French cooking in a relaxed bistrot setting.

“We’re currently looking for both front of house and kitchen staff to join our team, and will be holding recruitment days on October 18 and 19 at the Eastbank Street Job Centre.

“I would urge anyone who might be interested to come along and hear more about what we can offer in terms of training, development and unique benefits.”

Bistrot Pierre was set up more than 20 years ago by school friends, Rob Beacham and John Whitehead, who have since expanded the group’s presence around the country.

Rob Beacham said: “Although Bistrot Pierre has grown considerably, we ensure that each of our bistrots is unique – following the French ethos of no two bistrots being the same.

“We’re proud to be maintaining the beautiful, original features as we create a classic French bistrot for diners to enjoy.

“Southport is a beautiful town, steeped in history and culture with beautiful scenery, shops our and restaurants and I’m thrilled that Bistrot Pierre is able to support this thriving local economy.”

Bistrot Pierre will be opening in Southport on Friday, November 17, and will be open daily from 9am. It has also just launched the autumn/ winter menu, and Karen said she was particularly excited to bring Bistrot Pierre’s French flavours to Southport.

She said: “The new menu features a mixture of classic dishes - includ- ing boeuf bourguignon maison and confit de canard - as well as exciting new dishes including poulet chasseur, which is pan-fried chicken in a classic chasseur sauce.

“There really is something for everyone.”
