Rail and bus strikes will bring area to a standstill

ARRIVA bus drivers will strike on the same day as staff on Merseyrail and Northern Rail trains.

It is thought that these strikes may bring Merseyside to a standstill.

Drivers at Arriva throughout the North West were originally to strike on Monday, October 30, in a dispute over pay.

But, now, unions Unite and GMB have confirmed four more strike days.

One of the days is Wednesday, November 8, which is when the RMT rail union has already confirmed that its members will be on strike.
