ACCESS IS IMPORTANT

-

RE FISHERMAN’S Path crossing.

Safety improvements at the crossing are welcome, but I feel strongly that it should not be closed unless there is a viable alternative, for example a bridge, put in place.

Otherwise access to Formby Pine Woods from Freshfield Station will be made much harder, involving walking some distance down an often busy (and so dangerous) road to the National Trust Reserve.

Furthermore, the crossing is an intrinsic part of Sefton’s circular cycle and walking route, which links up with paths through the pine woods, from Formby to Hightown, from there to Waterloo, and from Waterloo back to Ainsdale via the Leeds/Liverpool Canal and Cheshire Lines – a route that is mostly all off-road and is of great use for cyclists, not only for recreational purposes but also to get safely from one place to another within Sefton. BOUNDARY ROUTE

IT SEEMS fairly obviously not to have been, but has the purchase of an easement for a footpath along the golf course boundary from Freshfield Station been considered? Phil Morgan Via email

WHERE ARE THE POLICE?

WHY are people so surprised about night-time burglaries?

It’s easy to see why, there are no police around!

Even during the day we don’t see any coppers patrolling.

We have a government that doesn’t care. Mike via email
