Musical night to support Sandpipers
FRIENDS of Sandpipers are hoping the Southport community will support their fundraising concert.
Brass and Vocals will be performed on Saturday, November 11 from 7.30pm at the Salvation Army on Shakespeare Street.
It will feature members of the Salvation Army Band along with other guest musicians, solo vocalists and a choir.
The evening will also acknowledge that the following day is Remembrance Sunday and those who gave their lives will be remembered.
Friends chairman, Brenda Porter emphasised the importance of the group’s support for Revitalise Sandpipers, which provides holiday respite for those with disabilities – some profound – and carers.
All funds will go direct to Sandpipers for the benefit of their guests.
The Southport centre, which is one of three Revitalise establishments in the country but the only one in the North West, is ideally located overlooking the Marine Lake and within distance of so many places that give support to the many excursions within the holiday programme.
Brenda said: “We all take for granted having the opportunity of taking a holiday.
“However for people with a disability, they don’t always have that luxury.
“Sandpipers not only provides that much needed break but all that goes with it.
“An excellent and appropriate environment, excursions taking advantage of the facilities within the northwest, inhouse daily entertainment and activities, great food, and peace of mind with a 24-hour nurse-led service on hand and people around you that care.
“Please support us at our concert. It is for a worthy cause and it will be a great night of entertainment.”
Friends of Sandpipers Concert – Brass and Vocal will be held at Southport Salvation Army, 65 Shakespeare Street.
