THE StarKidz Christmas elves have returned to Southport – but this year they have brought a grumpy friend, The Grinch.

Throughout the year, the children’s entertainment company provides entertainment for parties and events.

But at Christmas time, all the members turn into magical elves.

The children’s entertainment business has returned for the 7th year of festive visits, and they have brought the Dr Seuss character The Grinch – who stole Christmas in one story – along for the first time.

StarKidz Entertainment, is made up of 18 “elves” and customers can book garden visits, elf and safety checks and elf parties.

Jan Hayes, owner of StarKidz Entertainment, said: “We have been doing elf visits for seven years now, and its by far the most popular and magical thing we do, and it’s really put us on the map.

“We had over 500 bookings last year and it’s looking to be even more popular this year.

“We started by doing magical garden visits, where children hang their Christmas letters on the washing line and some naughty elves will sneak into the garden to collect them, all the while playing on toys and trampolines, not knowing they are being watched.

“It’s become quite a tradition in many families now, which is awesome.

“We also do ‘Elf and Safety checks’ where two elves will come into your home, and make sure it’s safe for Santa’s arrival.” This year The Grinch will be out and about.

Jan added: “We are putting a little warning out with these visits, as we don’t know what mood he will be in.

“The aim of these visits are to work as a family to make The Grinch feel festive.

“It’s a very exciting time for us, and I’m so happy we are part of so many people’s Christmas now.”

The elves will also be making an appearance at the Southport Christmas lights switch-on festivities, on Sun- day, November 19, in Lord Street.

They will be assisting CBeebies TV presenter, Alex Winters, in entertaining the crowds.

Although the company is based in Southport, it takes bookings from all over the North West including Manchester, Chorley and Blackpool.
