Southport Visiter

We’re entering a new digital era

-

THE Southport Visiter’s fast-growing website is to join forces with the award-winning Liverpool ECHO.

Visiter.co.uk is merging with liverpoolecho.co.uk as part of an exciting project to create an integrated digital platform supporting the whole of Merseyside and West Lancashire.

From February 27, you can find stories about Sefton and West Lancs at:

The Visiter and its reporting team will work alongside ECHO journalists to ensure round-the-clock coverage of the Sefton and West Lancs area.

Alastair Machray, Liverpool ECHO editor and editor-in-chief of Trinity Mirror Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales said: “This is an important development for coverage of this key area.

“I am thrilled that we will now have the strength and resource to ensure we produce the very best possible journalism from a region we have been proud to serve for 174 years.”

The Visiter’s much-loved print titles will continue to provide the very best news, sport, entertainment and comment to complement our online service and the huge and growing social media following for both the ECHO and the Visiter will ensure everyone knows when news, features, sport and video are available.

And the change is good news for advertisers who have access to vast audiences consuming Sefton and West Lancs news across a range of Trinity Mirror platforms.

Trinity Mirror NW and N Wales managing director Carl Wood added: “It is clear that consumer behaviour has changed massively with millions of readers choosing to access content online via mobile and tablet and it is that audience that advertisers want.

“We are the only local media company in the Sefton and West Lancashire area with the ability to offer advertisers this unrivalled scale of audience together with the expertise on how to target it which is way beyond the capabilities of any print-focused local media competitors.”
