Look Who’s at the Revitalise centre

A LIFESIZE Dalek made a surprise appearance for guests at local respite holiday centre Revitalise Sandpipers.

The appearance at the respite holiday centre on Southport’s Marine Lake celebrated the first half of the charity’s Best of British TV and Film Week, where guests were able to pose for photos with cosplayers and even talk with the Doctor Who character.

Entertainment is an important part of the break experience offered to guests, with a variety of themed weeks provided all year long.

Best of British TV & Film Week, a new addition to the charity’s theme week calendar, was an opportunity for guests to have fun celebrating all that is great about the nation’s television and films.

Leslie Sparkes, Revitalise’s guest relations manager, saidd: “What better way to begin our celebrations of the Best of British TV and Film Week than with a visit from some characters from Doctor Who.

“The guests were totally unaware that the visit was planned and it was a great feeling to see their excitement and surprise when they made their entrance.”

The surprise visit was made possible with the help of Make it Workshop – a community-run charity project in the heart of Southport.

Last year, Revitalise launched Wish You Were Here, a campaign inviting celebrities to send in their treasured holiday moments.

The campaign has attracted contributions from a host of celebrities including Christopher Eccleston, who played the ninth Doctor during the first series of the show’s revival back in 2005.
