Cadets get training in people and PR skills

-

OFFICERS and instructors from the Army Cadet Force, including Southport and Formby units, recently attend two training courses at Altcar Training Camp, Hightown.

The first was an introduction to public relations.

The course, which was provided by the National Army Cadet Force public relations training team (a team of professionals in their respective fields) was said to have been fast-paced, full of insightful information and a real eye-opener.

The course comprised how to write a press release, hold a radio interview, information and statistics and much more.

The aim of the course was to provide those attending with the information and tools to get them started on spreading the word about the Army Cadets.

The second was recruitment course.

This new course which teaches Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (inclusive of civilian assistants) how to recruit adult volunteers into the Army Cadet Force, has been carefully tailored and delivered by professionals from the industry.

The course reminded attendes about the importance of listening to people’s concerns and views carefully before responding, to ensure people felt that their individual views were being addressed.

It also reinforced the message of “we are one united Army Cadet Force, a let’s all work together to get people on board with our fantastic organisation”.

The course also covered identifying your market/customers/target audiences, action planning, recruitment materials, branding and a lot more.
