IT’S that time of year when we announce the plans for the annual Community Link Foundation golf day.
Trustees of CLF have been busy making plans for the fourth annual golf day which it is hoped will build on the huge success of the previous years.
It will be held on Thursday, June 7 and will return to the fabulous Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club Championship links course.
It is open to men and women and you can enter as a team of four, or individually and you will be paired with other players.
The event will start at noon with coffee and bacon rolls in the clubhouse.
This will be followed by an instruction clinic on the range by the club’s pro golfer, Jim Payne, between 12.45 and 1.15pm before golfers tee off from 1.30pm.
Tee times will be advised at the end of April.
The day will be rounded off with a prize presentation and three-course evening dinner in the clubhouse from 7.30pm.
Enda Rylands, chairman of the Community Link Foundation, said:
“This event is always really successful and everyone has a great time while raising funds for CLF.
“Registering a team could be a great way to treat someone you know or reward staff.
“It is also a really enjoyable, relaxed day to spend with friends.
“And, while having a game of golf on a great course, you will be raising money for a local charity.
“It’s a brilliant way to spend the day and is finished off with a great meal, too.
“We would be really interested in hearing from people who would like to join us or if anyone is able to sponsor any competitions on the day.”
Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club is a championship links which has hosted two Ryder Cups along with many other top class amateur and professional events.
The facilities are second to none, with a testing course, superb greens, excellent practice facilities and spectacular views over the course from the clubhouse.
