Songwriter Beth back at the Phil

-

AMERICAN singer-songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman comes to the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall with special guest Rob Vincent this Saturday.

Beth’s diverse body of work spans 13 albums and seven number one hits, including compositions that have been recorded by luminaries such as Elton John, Bonnie Raitt, Bette Midler, Willie Nelson and Neil Diamond. Her music has also been featured in film and on TV.

In fact This Kiss, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers 1999 Song Of The Year, sung by Faith Hill, earned Beth a Grammy nomination.

Also nominated for a Grammy in 2012 for The Mighty Sky, she was Nashville NAMMY’S 1999 Songwriter of the Year and inducted into the Songwriters’ Hall Of Fame in 2016.

Having lost her first husband to cancer in 1994, Chapman survived breast cancer herself in 2000 and a brain tumour in 2009 so in her concerts, workshops and keynotes, she draws from direct experience in her inspiring presentations about the fascinating dance between cognition, heal- ing and the creative flow.

Beth returns to the Liverpool Philharmonic following the release of her new Americana album Hearts Of Glass.

Hearts of Glass is a powerful collection of songs that dig deep into the place within us where vulnerability meets strength.

Produced by Sam Ashworth, the songs – mostly written by Beth alone – include several new compositions and gems plucked from her previous releases that have been re-recorded and moved from piano to guitar with minimal touches of production.

In concert her songs are interwoven with storytelling, all rooted in folk and Americana traditions, adding to the emotion of the experience.

Tickets cost £23.50, £29.50 or £32.50 and there is a 7.5% per order administrative fee applying for online and telephone orders. Postage is free.
