Atkinson keen to reward loyalty from Yellows fans

SOUTHPORT have released their season ticket pricing structure ahead of the 2018/19 season. Kevin Davies’ men have produced an impressive on-field resurgence of late, but after two consecutive defeats all-but-ended their slim hopes of reaching the play-offs, successive postponements against Darlington and Salford respectively have halted momentum at Haig Avenue.

Despite this, things are definitely on the up.

After breaking the club’s transfer record in acquiring goalmachine Jason Gilchrist from FC United, the Sandgrounders have since announced plans to develop their stadium and begin work on a number of other club initiatives, such as growing the youth academy and improving matchday hospitality.

This has been followed this week by CEO Natalie Akinson’s announcement that fans purchasing a season ticket for next season will be rewarded with a number of bonuses.

An adult ticket, which costs £160 for the season - with a child’s admission just £40 across the year - offers savings of almost £200, while 10% off replica kits and away coach travel will also be applied. Atkinson said: “We want to reward the loyalty of those supporters who come and watch us week in, week out and I hope they take advantage of our sea- son tickets and their added benefits.

“The squad has taken real shape this season, and playing exciting football, there is no better time to be part of the Club.

“With a full pre-season behind them I am sure Kevin, Jon and the players will be able to continue to improve and progress.

“We hope that you will join us on that journey as we seek to create more memorable moments at the Merseyrail Community Stadium next season.”

Season tickets can be purchased from the official Southport club website.

Next up for Davies’ men in the league is Nuneaton Town, who visit the Merseyrail Community Satdium on Saturday.

A victory could put Southport back within four points of the play-offs, but Nuneaton also have plenty to play for.

Victory would see them leapfrog the Sandgrounders in the table as they sit just two points - and the same amount of places - below.

With such great strides being made off the field, taking all three points on Saturday would be the perfect way for Davies and his players to ensure positivity continues to flow where it matters.
