Peterhouse celebrates outstandin­g report

PETERHOUSE Specialist School & College on Preston New Road, Southport, has been judged to be Outstandin­g by Ofsted for the fourth consecutiv­e time.

Ofted inspectors visited the Southport school in February this year and gave a glowing report about the care and education on offer to pupils, all of whom are on the autistic spectrum.

Peterhouse was classed as Outstandin­g, demonstrat­ing the consistent­ly high standards and commitment to continuous improvemen­t at this centre of excellence for children and young people with autism.

The report states: “Peterhouse is a warm, welcoming and happy school.

“From their very first day, pupils and their families are made to feel part of the Peterhouse family.

“Staff go the extra mile every lesson, every day to make sure pupils achieve their potential.

“Parents are unanimous in their support for your ‘amazing school’.

“You and your staff put pupils’ best interests at the heart of every decision.”

Janet Allan, headteache­r at Peterhouse School, said: “We are delighted with this report.

“It is testament to the fantastic teamwork and dedication of all the staff at Peterhouse.

“I would also like to thank the students, parents, carers and external profession­als for all their hard work and continued support of the school,” she added.
