ASOUTHPORT singer was given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform on stage with Nickelback.

Adam Brown from Crossens was one of the thousands who gathered to watch the band perform at the ECHO arena in Liverpool on Monday, May 7.

The 31-year-old had a regular standing ticket and was enjoying the concert when he was invited onstage to perform their song Rockstar with the band.

Adam grabbed the chance with both hands, and said: “It was an absolutely epic moment!

“I performed Rockstar with rock royalty Nickelback. They are an amazing band live, I’ve never heard anything like it.

“I got picked out of the audience to sing. I wasn’t going to stand there and freeze, took the chance and held 8,000 people in the palm of my hand!”

The dad-of-two is over 6ft and thinks that may have been one of the reasons he was picked.

He said: “I think I may have stood out because of my height and the fact I was wearing a purplechecked shirt and everyone around me was in black.

“They dragged me onto the stage alongside one other person. It was absolutely amazing.”

The experience meant a lot to Adam, who is a self-employed singer and has always had a passion for performing.

Adam estimated that there were about 8,000 people in the crowd, whereas he is used to singing to audiences of about b 1,000 people on cruise ships and holiday parks.

He said: “This was another level, it was a ‘wow moment’.

“Being up there in front of that many people was a great experience and, as a singer, it is something you are always aiming towards.

“After all these years in the b business, if fh that’s ’ my f five minutes of fame, I’ll die a very happy man!”

Adam, who attended Southport College, was starstruck by the incident as he has been a fan of the band for a “very long time.”

He said: “I came along with my friend, Chris, and the one song that has always been important to us is Burn It To The Ground, a and they played it as their encore.

“We had tickets around three years ago but the show got cancelled and we got these tickets by chance. It’s been three years in the making – and it was so worth it.”

Adam also said that Chad Kroeger, the lead vocalist in Nickelback, told him that he was a “seriously good” singer.

It seems as though the crowd w was also a fan of Adam’s singing abilities, as many members of the audience later took to social media to compliment him.

Adam added: “My phone hasn’t stopped pinging since the event; people keep mentioning me on social media.

“I am also in a Nickelback fan group where I posted the picture of me on stage, and hundreds of people have commented.”
