THE schoolfriends of Saffie Rose Roussos have designed and created a sculpture in her memory.

Saffie, who was a Tarleton Community Primary School pupil, was the youngest person to die in the Manchester Arena bombing on May 22, 2017.

Her classmates have been working on a creating a special bee sculpture as a tribute to her.

The year five children wanted it to represent the much-loved eightyear-old – so they decided to name it the Little Superstar bee.

The h school h l pupils ld decorated dh the bee with music and lyrics from a special song, Rise Up, that was written in Saffie’s memory, with help from pupils from Tarleton Holy Trinity and All Saints Hesketh with Beacconsall B primary schools.

The Little Superstar bee will now b be taken to be put on display in Manchester, but will return to the school as a permanent memorial to S Saffie in September.

A spokesperson for Tarleton Community Primary School said: “When designing the bee, we were really consious that we wanted it to represent Saffie in the right way. At h her funeral, her dad said that he wanted her to be famous, so the Little Superstar bee was born.

“The bee is due to fly back to Manchester for the exhibition this week and will return to school in September when it will become a permanent memorial to Saffie – Tarleton’s very own little superstar.”
