Head chef Daniel is back in the fold

ASOUTHPORT man has been appointed as head chef of Vincent Cafe & Cocktail Bar.

Daniel Simpson has recently accepted his new role, which will see him lead its thriving kitchen and sushi bar in Liverpool.

This isn’t the first time Daniel and Vincent owner Paul Adams have worked together however, as Daniel previously worked at the Warehouse Brasserie on West Street for five years – which was opened by Paul and later bought into by Steven Gerrard.

The Southport town centre venue, which closed in 2015, was voted one of the top 50 restaurant­s in the UK and saw the likes of Jude Law, David Beckham and Samuel L Jackson as visitors.

After his time at Warehouse, Daniel went on to work in London for two years at the Michelinst­arred Chez Bruce restaurant.

Returning to Merseyside, Daniel has reunited with Paul and is now heading the kitchen at the Vincent.

The chef is focused on continuous­ly adapting Vincent’s menu to reflect seasonal dishes using locally sourced produce where possible.

Daniel said: “It’s great to be back in Liverpool and working with Paul again. I am very excited to get stuck into this role and add my own touch to the already delicious menu.

“I’m really passionate about seasonal produce so I will be adding those ingredient­s and adapting the menu gradually throughout the year to reflect this.”

Vincent owner Paul Adams added: “Daniel and I worked together at the very popular Warehouse restaurant so it’s great to have him back.

“We make a great team and I’m really excited to see him head up the kitchen at Vincent Café & Cocktail Bar and put his own stamp on the menu.”

To celebrate Daniel’s appointmen­t as head chef, and to mark its fourth year in trading, the Vin- cent Cafe & Cocktail bar is launching its first celebratio­n evening, made up of a fourcourse dinner with pairing wines, a DJ and entertainm­ent.

The event will take place on July 26, and is set to become a regular occurrence.
