Watch out for road closures as thousands flock to

THOUSANDS of visitors expected on each of the three days.

The event begins on Friday evening and finishes on Sunday evening.

Sefton Council will be carrying out road closures before and during the event, with motorists urged to allow extra time for any journeys in the surroundin­g area of the air show.

The Park and Ride service will not be in operation on Saturday and Sunday, though beach parking is available on both of those days. On Friday the Little Esplanade car park will be open for Air Show traffic.

AA signs have been erected to guide motorists to the show, while the council has issued the following advice on parking:

“If you are travelling in from the north you will be directed to Princes Park on Friday and the Beach/ Marine Drive on Saturday and Sunday.

“If you are travelling from the east you will be directed to the Esplanade on Friday and Princes Park on Saturday and Sunday

“If you are travelling from the south you will be directed to the Esplanade on all three days.

“We would like to remind visitors that caravans, motorhomes and any high sided vehicle are not allowed on the beach.”

The following road closures will be in place: Today, Thursday

Marine Drive (between the Pleasurela­nd roundabout and Marine Parade roundabout) – 12 noon
