Last chance to catch up with secrets of the lost legend
IT’S the last week and your final chance to see Viking: Rediscover the Legend at The Atkinson. The exhibition ends this Saturday and is about to set sail leaving The Atkinson and the North West behind.
Over 4,000 people have seen the touring exhibition to date which includes star objects from the British Museum and key pieces from the York Museum’s world-class collections, interpreted in new ways to give a fresh perspective on how Vikings shaped every aspect of life in Britain.
Maria Bojanowska of the British Museum said: “This is your last chance to see the best of Viking treasure in the UK.
“In partnership with York Museums Trust, this is one of the British Museum’s largest touring exhibitions and is full of stunning objects from the Viking age.

Stephen Whittle, the Atkinson Museum and Gallery manager, said: “The exhibition has captured the imaginations of the visitors that have come from across the region. The quality of the exhibition is second to none and this has been proved with the increase in visitor numbers.”
