Fete calls for village church

PEOPLE are invited to enjoy the 71st Churchtown Village Church Annual Garden Fete and Rose Queen Festival this Saturday.

A procession around the village starts from the church in Botanic Road, at 1.30pm, returning for the crowning ceremony in the church at 2pm.

Hesketh Bank Silver Band will lead the procession and perform in the church during the afternoon.

Churchtown Warblers, from Churchtown Primary School, will also be in the procession and will perform in the church hall later in the afternoon.

Rose Bud Queen elect, Carys Wall, will be crowned by Kath Jackson.

Carys is following in the steps of big sister Sophie who retired as Rose Queen in 2017.

Admission is free and there will be a grand raffle, afternoon teas and many stalls and games.
