Barbers make the cut for awards

-

ASOUTHPORT salon has been recognised as one of the country’s best after being announced as a double national awards finalist.

The multi award-winning Master Barbers Shop, in Wayfarers Arcade on Lord Street, was shortlisted for Male Grooming Salon of the Year and Retail Salon of the Year for the HJ British Hairdressing Business Awards 2018.

And salon co-owner Robert Rix was shortlisted in the Business Director of the Year category.

The Master Barber’s Shop impressed the judges with its business growth and retail turnover, the salon’s unique selling points, the marketing undertaken by the salon and how the team works together.

Jayne Lewis-Orr, executive director of the HJ British Hairdressing Business Awards, said; “To be named as a double finalist highlights how exceptional this salon is.

“With hundreds of entries for each category and a panel of judges that excel at looking for the finer details, just to make the shortlist is an outstanding achievement.”

Robert Rix impressed the judges thanks to his career achievements, motivational skills, entrepreneurial talents, industry standing and activities beyond the salon.

Jayne Lewis-Orr said; “To be named as a finalist in the Business Director of the Year category highlights just how exceptional Robert is.

“Already he is a name within the industry, thanks to his commercial acumen, that is rivalled by only a handful of others.”

HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards promote professionalism, innovation and excellence, while recognising those individuals and teams who work tirelessly to raise the profile of the hairdressing industry.

More than 287,000 people work in the hairdressing, barbering and beauty industries, contributing more than £7bn to the UK economy each year.

Dan Rix, co-owner of The Master Barber’s Shop, said: “We’re delighted to have been named as a finalist not just once, but twice, for the British Hairdressing British Awards.

“It reflects the tremendous hard work everyone at the salon has put in over the past 12 months, and we’re indebted to them for making this such a fantastic year.”

The British Hairdressing Business Awards took place at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, London.

The Master Barbers Shop is also finalist for the National Hairdressers Federation Barbershop of the year which will be held in November in Manchester.
