Pleasureland ready for big spooktacular
STAFF at Southport Pleasureland are busy transforming the theme park into a Hallowe’en spectacular.
Doors will open its doors during half-term next week.
Once again, thousands of pumpkins will adorn the park, with witches, skeletons and a host of scary creatures at the Boo For You Hallowe’en Spectacular.
Staff have been working around the clock andowner Norman Wallis promisies it will be the perfect place for a family visit at Hallowe’en.
The park is also offering discounted ride tokens online, with the park open on Saturday and Sunday and then again the following Thursday to Sunday.
Mr Wallis has continually redeveloped the park since taking it over a decade ago. He plans to create more indoor attractions to attract visitors all year round.
And a Day of the Dead Festival next month – with firework displays and live music – is expected to bring thousands of people to the theme park over two days.
Mr Wallis believes Hallowe’en gives Southport businesses the chance to keep tourists coming to town after the summer season has finished – and offers lots of entertainment for residents.
He said: “What I’m trying to do to help Southport is to extend the season. A big problem for Southport is the season is relatively short.
“We’ve got a lot of opposition in the North West so we’ve all got to pull together and make sure we got our piece.
“But this is definitely going to be the best. This is the place to be for Hallowe’en.”
