SOUTHPORT radio star Claire Simmo will be presenting a charity football match for the James Bulger Memorial Trust this Sunday.

Claire, who presents the breakfast show on Radio City 2, is an ambassador for the charity and will be one of many famous faces on show at Prenton Park, home of Tranmere Rovers.

The game kicks off at 3pm, with proceeds going towards the upkeep of the caravan holiday home James Bulger House in Ribby Hall Villiage near Blackpool, which is used for bullied children and young crime victims.

Famous faces involved on the pitch will include TV hard man Danny Dyer and former Liverpool FC star Jermaine Pennant.

A statement from Tranmere Rovers said: “Danny Dyer, most famous for his role in BBC soap opera EastEnders, will captain the side who will be managed by former Tranmere Rovers player and manager John Aldridge.

“The 41-year-old Londoner joins a host of names from the reality TV and soap opera world, including James Argent, Frankie Foster plus EastEnders duo Dean Gaffney and Jake Wood.

“Aldridge will be joined in the dugout by former Liverpool boss Roy Evans, as the Wirral community comes together for two brilliant causes.

“Former Liverpool and Stoke City midfielder Pennant will also lace up his boots at the home of Tranmere Rovers.

“The 35-year-old has played for 15 different clubs during his prolonged career, and racked up 231 Premier League appearances.

“Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children, with all seating based in the Main Stand. Once the Main Stand has sold out, tickets will be available to purchase in the Essar Kop for all spectators.”

Tickets can be purchased from the Tranmere Rovers ticket office, located at Prenton Park, or call 03330 144452 and select option 1/2.
