Ray’s a laugh as leading comic trio head for the Atkinson stage

-

ON THE first Saturday of every month, the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club offers a raucous evening of entertainment, bringing the best live stand-up to Southport!

This month features one of the leading lights of Scottish comedy, Raymond Mearns, Britain’s only Goth, lesbian, transsexual comedian, Bethany Black, and multiawardwinning comedian Matt Rees

The show is hosted by comedian Damion Larkin, who will often improvise his entire set to hilarious effect.

Raymond Mearns is also a Bafta-nominated actor and one of the leading lights of Scottish comedy.

His list of TV and film credits is as long as your arm and he’s regarded not only as one of the top acts in Scotland, but also in the UK comedy industry as a whole.

He holds the honour of having been chosen to represent Glagsow at both the New York Comedy Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Bethany Black is a one- way ticket to a world you never knew existed.

Despite being “unique”, she’s warm, chatty and has built a cult following for her brand of confessional comedy.

She provides a sarcastic and dark view of the world’s taboo subjects in a neat PVC-clad package.

Her TV credits are impressive as she plays Helen Brears in Cucumber (Channel 4) and she also starred as 474 in the ninth episode of the ninth season of Doctor Who (BBC).

Multi-award-winning comedian Matt Rees has generated a huge buzz on the circuit with his unique brand of well-crafted gags and acerbic delivery, earning him high praise from audiences and critics alike.

LOL Comedy Club is held at The Atkinson, Southport.

Tickets cost £16.50 in advance / £19 on the door.
