Cllr Terry Jones said: “The village is the centre of our community and we must do all we can to ensure the safety of those who live and work within it.”
“We will also be having a drop-in meeting with ourselves and the police to discuss the situations and what we can do to support our village.

“Ainsdale is a great place to work and live, it has its day time and now a thriving night time economy, the renewal of the CCTV sends out a clear message that we will not accept behaviour that undermines the safety of those within our community.”
Cllr Tony Brough commented: “Ainsdale enjoys low levels of crime, the presence of CCTV cameras in our village will deter criminal activity and can provide credible evidence to assist the Police in their efforts to apprehend offenders.”
In 2013, after many issues of anti-social behaviour and burglaries within the Ainsdale business community, the Ainsdale Conservatives were part of a campaign to find a solution to this ongoing problem.
Cllr Terry Jones said at the time: “Our business owners and our community have the right to feel safe and protected as they go about their day to day business.”
After meeting with all businesses Cllr Terry Jones presented a request for funding signed by Ainsdale Businesses, to Sefton Council to fund and install CCTV in the village.
In November of the same year the cameras were installed.
