ASOUTHPORT ventriloquist is hoping to wow judges on Britain’s Got Talent seven years after bidding for glory on the X Factor.

Michael O’Shea, 45, will audition for the ITV talent show in Manchester after impressing producers in his application.

He has already filmed scenes of him travelling to the audition accompanied by parrot Jack and is hopeful of wowing judges enough to earn a place in the grand final.

Michael, who works as a team leader at Aintree Racecourse, previously appeared on X Factor spinoff show the Xtra Factor as part of signing duo Section 2. The pair were interviewed by hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack but the judges all voted against putting them through to the next stage.

But Michael believes he can do better this time and hopes his cheeky antics could even see one of the judges press their golden buzzer to grant him a place in the live final.

He currently performs with Jack during rhyme time singalong groups for toddlers and babies at the Atkinson library and is excited to take his act to such a big stage.

He said: “I’m very, very happy and I’m glad the producers liked what they saw.

“I’ve been doing this for years but I’ve never done it professionaly until now. I’ve done it lots and lots for family and friends behind closed doors but I’ve never done it in public like this.

“It’s not just going to be for kids, I’m going to do it for a wide range of people.”

Although Michael does not know which judges he will be faced with, he’s hoping comedian and children’s author David Walliams will again be in the line-up and believes the two would get along.

“I don’t know how it’s going to go. If I get a bit of a heckle from the audiences or judges, then I can have a joke back.

“I hope David Walliams comes back because we can have a bit of banter.”
