Gambling and sheer glamour at service ball

-

THE fourth annual Southport Service Industry Ball was held on Monday, January 28 at The Royal Clifton Hotel, Southport.

On arrival at the hotel, guests were greeted by Las Vegas Show Girls who handed out ‘Fun Money’ to play at the roulette tables.

Following the casino games, guests were called in for a three-course meal.

After the meal guests were invited to play Heads or Tails for free to win a £50 cocktail voucher for Spender’s Bar.

The lucky winner was Linda Howard. Shortly after, the raffle was drawn to raise money for Queenscourt Hospice.

There were some great prizes to win including a spa break at Formby Hall Golf Resort & Hotel; a meal and prosecco at the Guelder Rose; a Kitchequip bar hamper; £100 hair voucher for Artizan Hair Bar, and much more donated by local businesses such as Verites of Birkdale, Booker wholesalers of Crowland Street, The Barbers Parlour of King Street, 66 Café Bar at Hillside, The Prince of Wales Hotel and Maloneys Bar.

As the raffle drew to a close the last anonymous prize was drawn by Paul Conway – who drew his girlfriend Emzi Mui Birch’s raffle ticket (lucky number 13!).

As Emzi made her way to the stage, Paul got down on one knee, taking the room by total surprise and asked Emzi to marry him, of which she said “yes!”.

The Mac Bros then took to the stage to entertain guests and the after-party then followed at Spender’s Bar until the early hours.
