DJ Mark says we’re crying out for hotel
TOP DJ Mark Pickup says Southport “is crying out” for the £15m transformation at Bliss Hotel in Southport as he prepares to play at the venue’s launch night.
Visitors tomorrow night (Friday) will be able to see some of the changes at the former Ramada Plaza, including its new 3,000sq ft roof garden, and the new Bliss Kitchen and Bliss Space, which have replaced the restaurant.
Mark will play soul,
funk, and disco between 7pm and 11pm. He said he was looking forward to DJing the launch, and seeing the transformation.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to the night and I’m really excited by the whole project. I think Southport is crying out for this.”
Mark said he would have his decks outside as warm weather is forecast.
He said: “It’ll be lovely with the Marine Lake as the back drop. This is definitely going to be the place to be this Friday.”
The hotel, on The Promenade, is also launching its own Blissonik soundtrack, curated by Music Concierge.
Bliss Hotel owner Daniel Broch said: “Bliss Hotel isn’t just for guests, it’s a place that people who live in and around Sefton and beyond can be proud of and enjoy.
“The menu is friendly, delicious, creative, with something for everyone.
“We want to create experiences for people and this is what Bliss Space and the menu from Bliss Kitchen will do.”
The Bliss Hotel Roof Garden launch night takes place from 7pm this Friday, with free admission, and all welcome.
Visitors will be able to try four of the hotel’s new cocktails for £6 each, or book a table and try some of the new dishes.
The hotel aims to be a new “Super Soulful” UK brand with music, film and live entertainment at its centre delivered by its in-house entertainment brand Blissonik.com.
Owned by a couple of entrepreneurs, including the founder of the Everyman cinema chain, Daniel Broch, the hotel anchors the 250,000sq ft Waterfront Southport resort which sits on the edge of the Marine Lake.
The new 130+ bed hotel will soon be launching two new luxury penthouses along with the rest of its completely refurbished bedrooms and floors.
