SOUTHPORT Flower Show celebrates 90 years this summer – and we have £300 worth of tickets to give away to our readers.

Britain’s biggest independent flower show has been inspiring gardeners for decades and is full of tips and advice for home growers.

We have 10 pairs of tickets up for grabs for the show this month and one lucky reader will also win a free afternoon tea for two (to be used on Saturday, August 17 or Sunday, August 18).

Southport Flower Show runs over four days and is famous for its Grand Floral Marquee with its breathtaking floral displays.

Celebrity gardeners from TV and radio will be sharing their expertise and there is a packed programme of entertainment for all the family.

Enter our free competition and if you win a pair of tickets you can take your pick which day to visit the show from Thursday, August 15 to Sunday, August 18.

One of our lucky winners will also claim a bonus prize of afternoon tea for two in a luxury marquee on the site.

The theme for the 2019 show is The Garden Party, with visitors being invited to the biggest garden party to celebrate this special year.

Thousands of amateur growers enjoy the seaside show in August each year and the event includes a successful

food festival with celebrity chefs passing on their recipes.

Guests are also allowed to bring their pet dogs with them after the show successfully trialled a change in the rules last year.

Ray Roukin, general manager at Southport Flower Show said: “This year we celebrate our 90th anniversary by staging our best show ever.

“If you want the best gardening advice, to learn more about growing your own or just want a lovely family day out, there is something for everyone at Southport.

“This year’s garden party at Southport promises to be the highlight of the summer.”

Tickets for the show can be purchased at www.southportflowershow.co.uk. Children under the age of 16 are admitted free of charge with a paying adult.
