Another year of success for KGV

STAFF and students at King George V College, Southport, celebrated another year of excellent A-level results.

Students achieved 100% pass rates in 30 subjects.

Prestigiou­s university offers of A*-B grades have been achieved with significan­t numbers of students attaining the highest possible grades in subjects including maths, law, psychology, English, physical education and business.

The sociology results are among the best in the country with 91% of KGV students getting an A*-B grade.

KGV principal Anne-Marie Francis said: “We are simply delighted. Such exceptiona­l results reflect the hard work and dedication of King George V students and staff.

“This whole year group absolutely applied themselves and excelled in these new and much tougher A-level examinatio­ns.

“Equally, our BTEC students have exceeded themselves, securing very impressive high grades.

“Our students have achieved such excellent results that many will now have their first choice of university including to Oxbridge and Russell Group destinatio­ns.

“They are truly a credit to the college, their families and themselves.”

Ronnie Fell, chair of governors, added: “I’d like to congratula­te all students and staff, whose hard work and commitment has produced such an impressive set of results.

“We are thrilled for our students who can now go on to fulfil their dreams and ambitions.

“This demonstrat­es the quality of education available at King George V.”
