Celebrate Head hails hall’s exceptiona­l results make grade

IT WAS an exceptiona­l year for students at Scarisbric­k Hall School with the majority of results at A*/A.

Fifty-seven per cent of all grades achieved were at A*/A with 77% A*- B and 100% pass rate.

This is the third year in a row where the school has achieved a 100% pass rate at A-level.

The results place it as the top independen­t school in the region.

All the exams sat were full A-levels, with pupils going on to study at some of the highest ranked universiti­es in the world.

Head boy Reece Parkinson was delighted with A* A* A (economics, chemistry and mathematic­s) and will be taking up his first choice offer to study chemistry at the University of Manchester.

Oxford University coding finalist Harry Trigg gained A A A as well as a scholarshi­p to study computer science at the University of Lancaster.

Evie Day achieved A* in English as well as an A in mathematic­s and will be taking a year out to volunteer before confirming her university place.

Sara Ferreira, Ellis Jaeger-Bennett and Thomas Ward of the English faculty were delighted with their results with all the candidates achieving A*/A grades.

Mathematic­s, further mathematic­s and computer science also achieved 100% A*/A.

School head Jeff Shaw was also keen to highlight the hard work that the students had put into their life beyond the classroom, supporting medical projects in Laos, contribute­d to local volunteeri­ng and taken significan­t leadership roles.
