Four of the best make food awards shortlist
FOUR local restaurants and cafes will compete to be crowned best in the country at a prestigious awards ceremony later this month.
Independent businesses in Southport, Ormskirk and Burscough and have been nominated in the Food Awards England.
The awards are in their sixth year and celebrate the best in the food industry, from restaurants, chefs and servers, to the specialists and suppliers.
In Southport, Lebanese restaurant The Fig Bistro has been nominated in North section of the Best World Cuisine category, while Kings Gardens Tea Rooms is on the North West cafe/bistro shortlist.
Burscough’s Rose Tree Tea Rooms is on the North West section of the cafe/ bistro category shortlist, while Ormskirk’s Turquaz Turkish barbecue restaurant is among the World Cuisine nominees.
The black-tie ceremony will take place on Monday, October 14 at The Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel.
