Southport Visiter

Enjoying a Mighty fine serving of breakfast!

-

HOW time flies! Mighty Radio launched at 8am on April 1 and now, six months old on 107.9 FM, is broadcasting from Charlotte House, all along the Southport coast.

Trevor Ford and Louise Leigh are now the talk of the town.

Before making the Southport airwaves, Louise had careers in sales and hairdressing and never dreamed that she would be a radio presenter on a breakfast show.

She said: “When I wake up in the morning, I’m energetic and excited to banter with Trevor Ford and to entertain the listeners.”

Station manager Paul Tasker said: “The Breakfast Show sounds like it’s been around for years and it works so well. Our server report for statistics is showing thousands of new connections and listeners each and every week.

“More and more residents and businesses are listening to the Breakfast show with Trevor and Louise from 7am to 10am weekdays.”

Mighty Radio, in its six months of being on FM so far, has helped raise money for charities including Queenscourt Hospice, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Macmillan and the Love Isla Foundation.

The station has also helped promote numerous events around Southport.

Trevor, who is also the station’s director, said: “Mighty Radio has more exciting plans and projects coming soon, and we would also like to thank all of our 30 volunteers for making Mighty Radio one big local voice for the community of Southport.”
