SOUTHPORT’S first Trick or Treat Street came to life this week with hundreds of visitors to the attraction on Lord Street.

The realistic haunted Victorian street in the town centre was created as part of Southport BID’s annual Spooky Southport Hallowe’en Festival and is the first time anything like this has been created.

The event was free and hundreds of families enjoyed wandering past rickety fences, knocking on doors and looking through windows to see what was hiding behind.

Along the way they can met all manner of creepy characters out to spook with some even seen doing Fortnite dances.

Feedback on proved positive.

Jessica Pearce commented: “Just wanted to say how amazing it was. Our three and sixyear-olds and all the teenagers

Facebook in the queue seemed to love it.”

Sue Sykes said: “Thanks for a fab time – laughed so much.”

And Heather Beeby wrote: “Even the big kids loved it.”

The attraction proved so popular that there were big queues to see it.

In a post on its events page, Southport BID said: “We tried to keep the queues moving as fast as we could.

“We were much busier than any attraction we have done in the past. The team worked hard to keep it moving and we have had great feedback on the attraction.”

This is the fifth year for the annual Southport Hallowe’en Festival.

Thousands of people visit the town centre over the half term last year to enjoy the interactive events on offer at the haunted maze and Hallowe’en themed pop-up performances.

The four-day festival has seen extra surprises along the way with events and offers put on by businesses throughout the town centre.
