Wasted emotion, stirred up

-

YOU recently featured a number of letters from children in relation to climate change.

I presume that this subject is quite high on today’s education agenda and that these pupils have obviously been listening intently to what is being taught and – no doubt – fear for, not only their own future, but the future of mankind.

Is the subject being taught along with the counter argument that climate change might – I say might – be a natural phenomenon that isn’t due to man made causes?

I fully realise that this isn’t a very fashionable way to consider the “problem” and of course I am aware that many top rank scientists are prepared to use huge amounts of money to convince the world population that doom is imminent, but it is also true that many scientists do take the opposing view that human activity is not responsible for the demise of polar bears and that climate change has probably happened from before mankind inhabited the planet.

Of course these scientists, who have been lumped together with people like myself under the beautiful, collective term as “deniers”, do not enjoy the same amount of global attention as the doomongers because their views do not fit in with the world-wide scam which is all about power, control and money.

The Climate Change Act is the biggest economic suicide note ever written in our history and should be repealed.

It is already costing us an absolute fortune – money which could be put to so much better use on essential services like the NHS, social services, education, and the many other public services that are cash starved.

It is really quite a tragedy that so much wasted emotion has been whipped up by people who are well meaning but victims of the biggest global con ever.

NO POSITIVES

HOW can Steve Faulkner say the new Sainsbury’s will be a positive addition to the town?

Has he ever travelled down Meols Cop Road to the three huge supermarkets already there? It is a nightmare and even worse at school intake and home time.

Why do we need another supermarket or garage within yards of each other?

What happens to Sainsbury’s customers who travel by bus to the store on Lord Street?

All round it is a crazy idea, not doing anyone any good.

Why is it so difficult for councillors to see that or understand it?
