Sleek and Slinky – the inspirational slimmers
SLIMMERS in Ainsdale have been named Mr Sleek and Miss Slinky 2019 after each losing three stone.
Lizzi Hatton, who has lost 3st 10lb 8oz, was voted the Toby Carvery’s Slimming World group Miss Slinky 2019, and Dan Evans, who has lost 3st was named the group’s Mr Sleek 2019 after their fellow members were impressed by their achievements.
Slimming World’s annual Miss Slinky and Mr Sleek competitions recognise members who have transformed inside and out by becoming healthier and happier, slimmer and more confident, and who look great in their Christmas party clothes.
The national winners of both titles will each win a £3,000 cash price.
Both Lizzi and Dan said they were thrilled to win their respective titles.
Lizzi, 23, who has dropped from a dress size 18 to a size 12, says: “I’ve been looking forward to Christmas this year knowing that I now have the confidence to wear outfits that I couldn’t or wouldn’t have last year.
“Now I’ve won the title of Miss Slinky I have even more to celebrate and I know this festive season will be extra special.”
Dan, 19, who has lost 3st since June, adds: “Being voted for by the other members of the group is really great because it’s thanks to them and their support – and our consultant, Tina Whewell – that we’ve stayed committed to losing weight.
“As a man, joining a slimming group is quite a nerve-racking decision, even though both my mum and dad were both successful members, yet I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”
Tina said: “Christmas is a time of year for getting dressed up and having a good time. However, I know a lot of my members have told me they’d often dread it because they felt uncomfortable and out of place at parties, which is just so sad. This year I know Lizzi and Dan will feel completely different from previous years.
“I hope they’ll be accepting every invitation they receive and showing off their fabulous new zest for life – they definitely live up to their new titles of Miss Slinky and Mr Sleek in my eyes.” Her Slimming World group meets at The Toby Carvery, Ormskirk every Wednesday and Saturday morning.
