BABYBALLET Southport, Formby and Crosby is celebrating 10 years since the pre school dance classes started in our region.

Owner Jennifer Berrett wanted everyone to be included in the celebration, so decided to have both a children’s party and a ball for the grownups too.

On Friday, February 21, more than 50 boys, girls and their families attended the party at The Temperance Institute, Southport where they enjoyed all the babyballet favourite dances and were enchanted by Flutterstar the fairy and cute, cuddly babyballet mascot bears Twinkle and Teddy who joined in with the dancing too.

Party goers aged from six months had a magical time. Zoe Grant – mum to Evelyn, 11 months –, said: “We had a great time, thank you to everyone involved, I know one little girl who will be dreaming of big teddies tonight.”

Jennifer said “I had such a magical time, I can’t believe it has been 10 years since our first classes.

“I loved dancing and singing with everyone. It was so lovely that people made the effort to come even if they left our classes years ago, everyone was so good, joined in so beautifully.

“A highlight for me was seeing my own children enjoying the party and their faces when the characters entered the room is just magical.

“There are no words to describe how mesmerized they all look, it gives me goosebumps even after 10 years.”

The ball was held on Saturday, February 22 at The Vincent Hotel in Southport, The guests were treated to a welcome drink of babyballet pink or blue, followed by a three course meal and lots of dancing.

The dance floor was full all night as the guests were entertained by singers Kelly Bond and Jon Coates and Kevin Spofforth on the saxophone.

There was even a surprise dance by Twinkle and Teddy that gave the room a huge buzz and everyone was on their feet clapping and dancing along.
