Please back our lifeblood MEDIA DOING DAMAGE?
IN the last few weeks Small and Medium Enterprises, with no experience of supplying the healthcare sector, have adapted production and skills to produce lifesaving equipment for the NHS.
I hope when the Covid 19 crisis is over that procurement managers will keep faith, and not toss them aside in favour of cheap imports.
SMEs are the lifeblood of the community, from the convenience store to the local plumber and hairdresser.
Please continue to support them. Bernard Powell

ISN’T it time we brought the whole coronavirus scare into perspective?
Yes, people have died - but mainly those who are elderly or have had some serious underlying condition.
A minority have had a bad dose but the majority who have encountered it have coped with it in the same way as they would with the normal winter flu.
The hysteria has been fanned by the media – particularly the BBC.
What is more damaging – something that we will all feel the repercussions of – is the damage that is being done to our economy (not by the virus, but by the media reaction to it).
As someone who would be considered to be in the most vulnerable group I say let’s get on with life.
Many have died, but not as many as have died from flu, heart attacks, strokes, and a multitude of other conditions during the same period.
The fact is that if someone dies of a heart attack now and it is subsequently discovered that they test positive to the virus, the death is attributed to coronavirus.
Can that be right?
That has been the case over the last few days with a few wellknown people.
Let’s not be foolish and let’s continue to take all reasonable precautions, but let’s get our country moving again because every day our country is in lockdown is an economic disaster in the future for generations to come.
