Stammers joins Bootle to bolster coaching staff
BOOTLE manager Joe Doran has bolstered his coaching staff with the addition of Chris Stammers as the club’s new firstteam coach.
Stammers, an FA Academy Manager Licence holder and a UEFA ‘A’ licenced coach, arrives at the Berry Street Garage Stadium with a wealth of experience from all levels of the game.
Joining the Bucks from Ashton Town, where he was head coach last season, Stammers has managed Burscough and AFC Liverpool, as well as holding coaching positions at Marine and Skelmersdale United.
Stammers has also worked with a host of professional sides in the North West, including Manchester United, Burnley and Blackburn Rovers, and is currently Head of Football at the Elite Sports Academy.
“I am happy Chris has chosen to come in and work with the club, he has great experience and we believe that he will be a great addition to the team,” Doran said on the appointment.
“Richie Boswarva (Assistant Manager) and I met with Chris and his passion matches ours and we look forward to working with him.
“Finally, I hope everyone and their families are keeping healthy and safe and we will update you on any updates we have regarding next season as and when they arrive.”
Although the club is yet to receive any indication from the North West Counties League or the Football Association about when their 2020/21 season will commence.
The Visiter understands that Doran is in regular contact with the club’s players from last season and has also held provisional talks with a small number of players over joining the club this summer.
At this moment in time, it appears the normal start date in August is a no goer and the start of the new season will be pushed back due to the current social distancing measures in place.
