Every penny counts as Skem set up team fundraiser

-

SKELMERSDALE United have launched a donations site to give them every chance of being upwardly mobile when football eventually returns to the non league scene.

Kick Starter aims to reduce the financial burden that clubs like Skem face, having had little or no income into club coffers during the coronoavirus lockdown.

Over the past few seasons United have started on the back foot.

Playing at Prescot Cables’ ground put a huge burden on club funds, but with Skem now back in town at the JMO Sports Park, the future is looking a lot brighter.

With The Premier League and other sports starting behind closed doors, Skem are optimistic it’s won’t be too long before we can they can get started again themselves.

To put United on a firm footing for when the season resumes, the club are looking at supporters to make a donation that will help their cause.

They club still have payments to be made to the North West Counties and funds need to be found for the start of next season, so they can hit the ground running.

Skem are appealing for the public to make a minimum donation of £10. You can of course donate more and each person who makes a donation will have their name added to the “Kick Starter” donations page.

Skem would like to thank all those who have already made a donation.

You can make your payments direct into the club accounts: Account name Skelmersdale United AFC; Sort code 60 19 49; Acct no 33697213 Donations can remain anonymous if required. This will be updated and put on our Social media channels and will be included in all of next season’s match day programmes
