Tyson has home: what about return of Bruno?

-

GOOD news, – here at the animal centre we are now open to members of the public wishing to adopt an animal, but visits are strictly ‘by appointment only’.

Appointments will be arranged during the adoption process by our reception team, but please do not just turn up if you do not have appointment, as you will not be given access.

The health and safety of our staff and volunteers is of upmost importance to us, so anyone who visits the animal centre will be required to wear a face covering or mask, whilst on site. You will be asked to sanitise your hands and to maintain social distancing at all times.

We are so pleased to be able to take another step towards, getting back to some form of new normal.

In previous articles we have mentioned the very handsome Tyson on several occasions. He had been searching for his forever home for many months, but at last he has had some luck and been adopted! His new family have since been in contact with the animal centre to say how well he is settling in and how pleased they are to have adopted him. All the staff and volunteers who worked with Tyson are over the moon and wish him the best of luck with his future.

We hope Bruno, who arrived at the same time as Tyson, will soon be the next lucky dog to be adopted. Poor Bruno has been at Southport Ormskirk & District Animal Centre searching for his second chance at happiness for 222 days and counting! Come on, there must be someone out there for him.

Bruno is a neutered medium sized Staffordshire bull terrier cross who requires a special home, with understanding owners, who can keep up his training and provide him with the structure and stability.

Bruno is ‘dog reactive’ and must wear a muzzle when out in public places. We understand this can sound daunting to new owners, but it is in Bruno’s best interest that he wears one for his safety and others. The animal centre will provide a correct fitting muzzle for Bruno as part of his adoption fee. Due to this, Bruno needs a pet-free home, but can be rehomed with older children 14+.

Bruno is a very affectionate older boy with people and loves to spend time cuddled up on the sofa, or playing in our sensory garden. He has adapted well to kennel life and has become a firm favourite with staff and volunteers.

If you have any questions about Bruno, please do not hesitate to call reception on 01704 567624 between 11am-4pm.

Please be aware phones are off on a Wednesday, but you can leave a voice message and someone will get back to you as soon as they can.

For anyone wishing to read our temporary adoption process for both cats and dogs, you can do so on our website www.rspcasouthport.org/ adopting.
