Marine FA Cup clash to be televised on BT Sport Club are producing bumper programme to celebrate their progress
MARINE have made it into the Second Round of the FA Cup tie for the first time in over two decades.
Marine AFC, based in Crosby, Merseyside, have had confirmation that the Emirates FA Cup Second Round tie against Havant & Waterlooville will be shown live on BT Sport.
Marine’s cup opponents overcame Cray Valley Paper Mills and have also seen off Horsham, Chatham Town and Bath City since entering in the second Qualifying Round. In the League they have played just three games, winning 2-1 at Billericay Town but being defeated at Dartford, their only home match resulting in a 2-2 draw with Maidstone United.
Havant & Waterlooville reached the Fourth Round in 2008, famously facing Liverpool at Anfield and leading 1-0 and 2-1 before eventually going down 5-2 in front of 6,000 travelling fans. Marine meanwhile will go in to the tie on the back of nine consecutive wins (including two on penalties), with a record of 23 for and just five conceded, including five clean sheets.
Marine have also announced they are producing a bumper souvenir match programme for the forthcoming Second Round tie. The programme will feature 56 full colour glossy pages and will be a bumper edition to celebrate the club’s first appearance at this stage of the competition in 28 years.
