Momentous year at most difficult times

-

THIS year marks a momentous milestone for Queenscourt as the Hospice celebrates its Pearl Anniversary and we take time to reflect on all we have achieved over the past 30 years.

Although our celebrations will not be as we planned them to be because of the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, it is important that we acknowledge all the hard work that has enabled us to remain in service, especially during these most difficult of times.

Queenscourt has an important role in the community – to ensure that health professionals, patients, their families and the public understand the importance of living life to the full to its end.

We have a responsibility to show patients and families how to live with what cannot be changed, to provide the very best care with compassion and skill and educate others to be able to do the same.

While every member of our staff is to be commended for their hard work and dedication, we could not have survived for the last 30 years, and will not survive into the future, without the phenomenal support we receive from within our local communities.

It is the unwavering support of our volunteers and all those who fundraise on our behalf, make donations and leave bequests, that helps keep Queenscourt in aervice.

The pandemic has resulted in unprecedented times for everyone but #teamqueenscourt has striven to maintain our vital services and support our local communities. We have achieved it, but only because of the support we have received.

As we look ahead to the next 30 years, we ask that your support continues so Queenscourt can continue to offer our vital services to future generations.

The pandemic has had a huge impact on our fundraising, which is down by almost 70% on what it was before Covid-19, and we still need your help more than ever to ensure we can continue providing our vital services.

In our Pearl Anniversary year we would like to invite those of you who are able, to support us by setting up a regular gift to our hospice. Every penny really does make a difference whether you choose to make a weekly, monthly or annual donation, as it helps to provide a predictable income for our charity.

Alternatively, you can support us by joining our lottery or buying a raffle ticket for our twice-yearly raffle, or by organising your own fundraising initiatives. Celebratory giving is also a valuable source of income and we thank all of you who think of the hospice as you plan a special day – be it a wedding, birthday or anniversary.

Donations in memory of a loved one also provides vital funding, whether it is through events held in their name or donations made at their funeral. It is also possible to set up an online tribute fund in their name.

Legacy gifts are also received with deep gratitude and if you choose to remember Queenscourt in your Will, you can be assured that your gift will make a real difference to the lives of both our patients and their families.

To discuss any form of fundraising call our Fundraising Team on 01704 517420 or, email us at fundraising@queenscourt.org.uk.
