Queenscourt Hospice Column

Just days until shops reopen!

-

EXCITEMENT is growing within Queenscourt’s Retail Team as we prepare to reopen our shops on Monday, April 12, as long as the Government’s roadmap out of the third lockdown stays on course!

We are really looking forward to welcoming customers old and new through the doors of our five shops, which have sadly remained closed since the latest lockdown began on January 5.

In the run-up to the reopening, our Retail Team will be working hard to ensure that each store remains a Covid-19 secure place for our staff and volunteers to work in, and for our customers to shop in.

Our shops generate much-needed income for Queenscourt, so that our hospice can continue to provide exceptional palliative care for local people with life-limiting illnesses.

The three lockdowns have had a huge impact on our fundraising income, and as we celebrate our Pearl Anniversary and 30 years of providing compassionate care, we have never needed your support more.

Once the current restrictions have been lifted, we hope to see you back in store and browsing for that special item or bargain.

You can find us at:

28 Chapel Street in Southport town centre

48 Brows Lane in Formby 33 Liverpool Road North in Burscough

150 Cambridge Road in Churchtown

88-90 Bispham Road in Southport Most of our shops are open from 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday, except for Chapel Street which is open from 10am to 4pm.

While our high street shops have been closed, our eBay online shop has remained open for business. To ensure that we have a constant flow of new and interesting items for sale in our eBay shop, we are always looking for higher value donated items.

Of particular interest are unique, vintage or designer goods; electronics and retro/childhood games and toys; older video games and consoles, CD Walkmans; record players; tablets; mobile phones; coffee and tea makers.

We would also welcome unwanted bric-a-brac items from well-known names and brands, such as Beswick pottery’s ranges, the M I Hummel figurines, Royal Worcester, Troika Pottery and Wedgwood pottery.

If you have a higher value item that you would like to donate to our eBay shop, please contact our friendly retail team at qcretail@queenscourt. org.uk or by calling 01704 544645.

To see what is currently for sale on our eBay site, please go to www.tinyurl.com/queenscourtebay In anticipation of our shops reopening, we are looking to recruit additional volunteers to help out in our Formby and Chapel Street shops, and also with our online eBay shop.

If you are interested in joining our retail team as a volunteer then please contact volunteers@queenscourt. org.uk or call 01704 517426. Thank you.
