Southport Visiter

Life at The Little Theatre, Southport It’s nearly time to welcome you back

-

WE are inviting you on our journey to reopen the Little Theatre. We hope that the season we have on offer will offer you a real getaway and there is something to suit all tastes.

Before you take your seats and relax for take-off, we have a few announcements. Alas, we cannot offer you the glamorous crew of Boeing Boeing to deliver them, but you will be able to review them before you plan your visit.

When you book your tickets, you are agreeing to abide by our updated policies and procedures that are in place to keep all of us safe and to keep the theatre open.

We do not have lifebelts, whistles, or oxygen masks of course, but we do have trained personnel, and the most current ATG guidance at our fingertips. This may be subject to updates and alterations so will be published on our website.

He has assembled a cracking cast of talented teens who are all working safely and keenly to bring the colourful characters to life.

His ability to elicit both pizazz and pathos makes him an ideal director for the piece. To finesse the flicks and kicks we have Choreographer extraordinaire, Pippa Morris.

Her reputation as a teacher and deviser is well known throughout the town and we are sure to be dazzled by the dancing.

Adding harmony to the production team is Musical Director Adam Dutch who will be giving the vocals some va-vavoom. Fame the Musical will be performed each evening from August 24-28 2021 with a matinee on Saturday, August 28.

Our next stop is London to greet returned resident Richard Hannay. This super spy with a stiff upper lip was originally created by Scottish author John Buchan over 100 years ago but thanks to the success of his novels, then the celluloid adaptation courtesy of Alfred Hitchcock, the character is still beloved today.

Hannay is, of course, the lead character in The 39 Steps.

This pacey tale has had three further film adaptations with the most recent being in 2008.

It has also been adapted multiple times for radio and we are delighted to present it as our 2021/22 subscriber season opener. Adrian Miles-Roberts has stepped up to direct and is very familiar with the play, having starred in our 2012 production.

This play will be performed from Septemeber 17-25 2021 so get the date in your diary and keep your eyes peeled for tickets going on sale.
