Lynch back with Marine permanently

-

EX-CLITHEROE manager David Lynch has joined Marine as a player.

Midfielder Lynch, 28, recently left his role as Clitheroe player manager and has Conference National experience.

He was briefly registered for the Mariners last season for the Tottenham Hotspur FA Cup tie.

“I know from the chat we had how ambitious he is but also how excited he is to get back playing regularly.

“At just 28 he is a great age and before taking the reins at Clitheroe was a regular at Conference North level at Alfreton and before that a Conference North winner with Halifax Town, so also brings great experience.

“David comes into a squad with whom he has been involved with previously, during our FA Cup tie with Spurs and will strengthen our midfield options.”

Lynch said: “Having stepped down from my role at Clitheroe I had no doubts in my mind I wanted to go back to playing again.

“My initial plan was to have a short break and assess my options but having met up with Neil Young my mind was made up that I wanted to sign for Marine.

“I have played for Neil before and was lucky enough to be invited into his group for the Tottenham FA cup game and I was blown away at the professionalism and standards for a club at step 4 in non league.

“The players were first class with me and welcomed me into their group and I am looking forward to integrating into a really competitive squad, to help the club achieve the targets set for the coming season.”
