Familiar faces grace Little Theatre’s bar
TICKETS are now on sale from our website for A Little Night Out. This carefully curated creation celebrating our talented members is performed on
Friday, September 24 and Saturday, September 25.
The setting of the bar is ideal for this event and the range of pieces means there is something for everyone.
We commence with a
David Davies original play inspired by Pride and Prejudice. He explores what might happen when one casts a modern eye on the popular regency tale.
We then move to two individual pieces from the considered pen of John Sharp. Both look at relationships in different ways and flank the interval. In the first we meet a man who cannot understand why his relationship has failed – although as he speaks, we may come to work it out.
The second is a two-hander, sensitively exploring a woman with dementia bestowing a gift upon her granddaughter from a time in her past.
Emily Parr is another playwright who will be performing in her dualogue with seasoned performer Tony O’Keeffe.
Emily plays a woman seeking to sack an employee, and he is not going to go quietly. Her one-woman show, No Coward Soul, was universally acclaimed when she toured with it in 2019 and we are looking forward to more of her work.
The following week you can also enjoy the writing and performing talents of Paul-James Green as the debut of Grape Juice is performed by Ghostlight Performers from September 30-October 1.
Grape Juice is a coming of age dramedy about a young perfectionist whose world is rocked when he feels forced to reveal his sexuality.
Next week we will tell you more about this bold new production and confirm the rest of our season here at the SDC.
