PREDATORS

The partridge has many enemies, particularly at nesting time when they suffer predation from foxes, corvids, raptors, rats, stoats and weasels. Foraging badgers, too, can be a real threat at nesting time. Sparrow-hawks are also a major predator in late winter and spring, picking off individuals once the coveys have broken up for nesting, though only the female is large enough to take on an adult bird.
