Cladding and Churchward condensing coil for ‘Saint’

Both cylinder and boiler cladding is making good progress on Steam Railway appeal ‘Saint’ No. 2999 Lady of Legend, with the cladding and lagging fitted to the left‑hand cylinder and well advanced on the other side, and machining completed on two new snifting valve castings. The cladding for the firebox backhead is also being formed and new mudhole door covers ordered, while in the cab, the lubricator is the latest part to receive its pipework, with the condensing coil manufactured to the original Churchward design. Both the cab spectacle glasses and the smaller ‘porthole’ windows above the firebox are awaiting glazing.
