MAldEgEM gAlA dAtEs

Next year’s steam festival at Belgium’s Stoomcentrum Maldegem is to be held from April 29-May 1, with up to seven narrow and standard gauge locomotives, including two narrow gauge visitors from the UK. It is hoped that Canadian-built Belgian National Railways 2-8-0 No. 29.013 will attend, and a selection of horse-drawn carriages will be on display.

Cyprus MusEuM OpENs

Cyprus’ first railway museum, situated in a former station building near Evrychou, was officially opened on September 10. It tells the story of the Cyprus Government Railway, which operated from 1905 to 1951, with a restored wagon and pump trolley on display.
